UGH THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT THEME FOR MOST OF THESE MOVIES.

Toy Story is about accepting that nothing lasts forever.

A Bugs Life is about groups working together to reject oppression.

Monsters Inc … I haven’t seen.

Finding Nemo is about learning to let go of the past THAT WAS SO EXPLICIT!

THE INCREDIBLES IS ABOUT HOW OUR SOCIETY LIMITS THE POTENTIAL FOR GREATNESS BY EVENING EVERYONE OUT, IT HAS A PRETTY STANDARD RANDIAN MESSAGE AND IT’S BARELY EVEN ABOUT FAMILY. I don’t particularly agree with it, or Ayn Rand, but it’s so so obviously the point of the movie.

Cars also had a SUPER EXPLICIT redneck theme, “it doesn’t matter where you’re going as long as you remember where you came from” which I’m pretty sure was even said as plainly as that in the dialog.

“What We Achieve Is Determined By Us And Us Alone” is NOT the theme of Ratatouille, if that was the point of the movie then why would you pair it with a picture of the rat and the chef working together - they couldn’t have pulled it off alone. The theme of Ratatouille was also really explicit, “not anyone can be a great chef, but a great chef could come from anywhere”; the first half of that quote is really explicitly mutually exclusive with the theme that this stupid image claims; it’s not saying that if you try hard enough you can become a great chef, it’s saying that some people are inherently talented and you shouldn’t dismiss them based on irrelevant traits like class or race. 

WALL-E WAS NOT ABOUT LOVE. IT WAS ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIVING A FULFILLING LIFE AND JUST BEING BIOLOGICALLY ALIVE. IT WASN’T ABOUT LOVE ANY MORE THAN ANY MOVIE WITH A SUB PLOT ABOUT LOVE IS “ABOUT LOVE”.

Up was about how dreams can change over time and how just because a person traded one dream for another doesn’t necessarily mean they are or were unhappy.
